In her latest Instagram video, Pooja Makhija explained why we yearn for sugar things and an easy way to control these cravings. “Is sugar your boss? Do you call all the time, anytime? Simple hack, to make sure you’re the boss, not sugar!” he wrote with the post.

According to Pooja, sugar deficiency is the result of protein deficiency in our body. “Every time you’re reaching for sugar, your body is really asking you for protein,” she explains. Therefore, she recommends that all three meals- breakfast, afternoon and dinner should include a good amount of protein.

“Protein also stimulates the production of leptin. Leptin is a hormone that reduces appetite. And so, you can keep your cravings more under control. Pooja says.
